I’ve been watching American Idol from season 3 up… Although I can’t say that I’m a fanatic coz I usually stop watching when the person I am rooting for gets the boot! (Sore loser, I know).
My bet for season 3 was Fantasia.. and she won! yihaa!!!
I know I’m a Filipino and I should’ve probably wanted Jasmine Trias to win… Well, I just DIDN’T. She was really young at that time, although she has greatly improved now since her Idol days, back then, she just wasn’t that good. I remember praying for her to be eliminated (bad, I know) but I just felt so sick of her not delivering a great performance week after week but still she gets through…. And all the other people who did a lot better than her are getting eliminated. I don’t mean to hate, I’m a fan of her now. 
Moving on…
Season 4, I fell in love with Mario Vasquez but we all know what happened with that.. ^_~
I liked Carrie Underwood but I placed my bet on Vonzell Solomon… She was just sooo cute and her performances were awesome. Unfortunately, she only made it til the final 3. So you know I did not watch the Carrie-Bo showdown. But when it was Carrie and Bo, of course I wanted Carrie to win.
Season 5 came… The most heartbreaking season ever… I heart Elliott Yamin… 
When he got voted off, I cried and swore I won’t watch Idol again… (hehehe, we all know that didn’t happen. ^_^) That would’ve been such a great finale, Katharine Mcphee and Elliott Yamin. But that didn’t happen either. Anyway, Elliott still is my IDOL and because of his talent he was offered a recording contract and is now still making really good music… Taylor Hicks won… speaking of, where is he now??? hmmm…. Also, Chris Daughtry is still rockin’! Love his songs!! ^_^
Last year, I was rooting for Melinda Doolittle… She was just plain awesome! Also Chris Richardson, but he didn’t make it through either. Blake vs Jordin – I bet on Blake… but alas, Jordin Sparks won the title… *sigh*
This season I got my eye on these people…
I can only hope that one of these people will be the next American Idol… (especially David Archuleta… hihihi).

I began watching AI a little bit in seasons 3 and 4 but it was season 5 that hooked me. I was crushed the way season 5 ended…I think that the AI producers probably felt the same way. While upsets and shock eliminations are interesting in the moment I think having Taylor win really set back AI just a bit. I had picked KMcphee to win from halfway through her audition the very first time we saw her…so I wanted her to win. But I think Chris probably was the best that year.
